The UFC 251 card scheduled for RAC Arena in Perth on June 7 has been postponed.
UFC says the WA pay-for-view event had been postponed due to current state and national restrictions on public gatherings and travel.
They will look to reschedule in Perth either later in 2020 or in 2021, but could consider staging a non pay-for-view fight in another Australian city before then.
In a statement, UFC said:
“Due to current state and national restrictions on public gatherings and travel, UFC 251 originally scheduled for Perth, Western Australia on Sunday, June 7 has been postponed.
“UFC looks forward to returning to Perth in the near future with a PPV event in partnership with Tourism Western Australia.
“Fans can register their interest to receive date, ticketing and bout information at ufc.com/perth.”
There was no confirmed main event for UFC 251 with the proposed fight between women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevcheno and Joanne Calderwood scrapped after the former pulled out.
Alexander Volkanovski was also rumoured to headline the card but was hesitant due to coronavirus restrictions.
